Beadalicious is a business born out of a hobby which, as many creative hobbies do, had taken over all my spare time and much of my home also!

I didn't set out to become a jewellery designer, having studied textiles and fashion design at university I suppose I thought that would be the path I would follow but life is full of surprises and a jewellery designer is what I am!

I began making handmade cards to sell at craft fairs and soon it became clear that as more and more people did the same there was no need for yet another card stall .

While on a short break to visit some friends in Belfast I came across a bead shop and purchased some beads to make myself some jewellery. I've always loved all kinds of arty crafty things and although I'd never tried jewellery making before, I thought I'd give it a go. Later that day, my husband suggested that I buy more beads and make jewellery to sell at craft fairs instead of cards. I took him up on his suggestion and have never looked back!

I've been making jewellery for nearly 3 years now and I love it! Demand for my designs grew and grew from family and friends looking for gifts or for something for themselves. After doing some jewellery for a friend's wedding I decided it was time to launch full steam ahead into business.

With a little help from the business gateway I launched Beadalicious on 1st September 2006. I received a business start up grant which allowed me to purchase quality tools and materials, gorgeous packaging and display stands for exhibiting my work.

I began doing parties, displaying and selling my work and taking orders for custom pieces in October.
Since March 2007 I have been selling my designs at the Alcraft craft market once or twice a month in Merchant Square, Glasgow and most recently I have confirmed a place in Scotland's Exclusive Wedding Fair in Glasgow for this August.
